frequently asked questions

Can I become pregnant after this surgery?

A morbidly obese patient who undergoes rapid weight loss will experience body systems changes that could detrimentally affect a fetus. Therefore, physicians strongly advise against pregnancy until the patient's treating physician determines the patient is medically stable and that pregnancy is safe. This may take 1 - 2 years or even longer, depending on the amount of weight loss and state of the patient's health. Discuss this with Dr. Thomas, primary care physician and gynecologist.
