frequently asked questions

I do have one question since I live out of state. How many visits do I need to make to your facility before the surgery?

If you provide sufficient and complete information to Dr. Thomas and your primary care physician communicates with Dr. Thomas your needs postoperatively, you may only require one visit to the surgeon. This depends on your medical condition.

If you live out of state, and choose to explore whether you are a potential candidate for weight loss surgery it will require that you to provide a great deal of information about your personal history and medical background, secure information from your primary care physician, determine whether your insurance company has coverage for this elective surgery, and complete testing and physical examination.

Staff can assist you in compiling and providing the necessary information to Dr. Thomas, giving you access to necessary confidential testing procedures, completing the necessary paperwork, communicating with insurance company representatives and making arrangements if Dr. Thomas determines that you are a potential candidate. The process is required for your safety, and is accomplished under the direction of Dr. Thomas. Through this website you will be given access to materials and information the surgeon orders for you, pre and postoperatively, and a means of confidential communication.
